Role & Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of the personal wealth and financial planning issues facing UHNW clients in Germany
  • Analyse the effectiveness of proposed new solutions and non-standard large and complex cases, including client rationale in the choice of structure
  • Develop and implement effective estate and succession planning solutions for UHNW client base
  • Build strong relationships with business development and wealth structuring colleagues, supporting them proactively in servicing partners and developing new business
  • Work closely with our commercial teams, providing them with guidance on technical aspects of client cases and support in the development of business relationships
  • Develop and maintain network of leading legal firms and preferred suppliers
  • Liaise with external counsel; commission, analyse and summarise legal and tax opinions
  • Provide technical assistance internally on matters regarding new and existing business and clients
  • Monitor changes in the wealth management environment in and investigate the potential impact or opportunities for the company
  • Participate in product development

 Your profile

  • Degree or Masters level education, preferably in law
  • Minimum of 5 years’ financial services experience (post-qualification) in-house or in a reputable mid-sized or top-tier tax or legal firm
  • Excellent knowledge of German life assurance
  • Expertise in personal and corporate taxation
  • Ability to work autonomously where appropriate, to prioritise tasks and exercise sound judgement and creativity in finding solutions
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills
  • German speaker. Excellent level of English. Proficiency in other major European languages is useful
