Field of activity

Clearstream Risk Management (“CRM”) is responsible for measurement, controlling and reporting of operational, business and liquidity risks of the Clearstream Group and for ensuring Business Continuity Management (BCM) preparedness across the Deutsche Börse Group.  CRM is staffed by six individuals and reports to the Chief Risk Officer of Clearstream and is part of the CRO Clearstream Department.



  • Review and development of operational risk scenarios, review and reporting of key risk indicators, validation of results and changes to the AMA operational risk model;
  • Provide advice, challenge and support to Clearstream units to drive proactive risk management
  • Perform onsite-visits to Clearstream operations in Europe and Asia
  • Risk reporting to Clearstream executive management, the board of directors and all committees;
  • Preparation of quarterly and ad-hoc internal risk reports;
  • Development, maintenance and enhancement of risk concepts, policies, procedures and methods for stress testing;
  • Contribution to improve risk awareness as part of the corporate culture;
  • Provide input and support to key projects and change processes
  • Review and development of operational risk scenarios, review and reporting of key risk indicators, validation of results and changes to the AMA operational risk model;

Qualifications/required skills

  • University or similar degree in a relevant field (sound mathematical background is an advantage)
  • Proven track record in operational risk management in regulated financial institutions, including experience of Basel II Advanced Measurement Approach (AMA)
  • Sound knowledge of relevant risk management regulations (Basel II / CRR / CRDIV / MaRisk)
  • Excellent analytical skills, creativity, critical thinking, ability to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Additionally you need to be a team player with strong communication and soft skills, highly motivated, and with excellent command of MS office applications.
