Description: La Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL) a été instituée par les lois du 22 avril 1998 et du 23 décembre 1998 telle que modifiée par une loi du 13 juillet 2007, la loi du 24 octobre 2008 et la loi du 10 novembre 2009. La BCL a été créée en même temps que la Banque centrale européenne (BCE). Sa fondation représente l'aboutissement de longs efforts dans le cadre de la création de l'Union monétaire européenne (voir aussi Eurosystème).
L'Etat est l'unique détenteur du capital de la BCL qui est fixé à 175 millions d'euros (25 millions d'euros au 31 décembre 1998). La Banque a réalisé une augmentation de capital en date du 1er juin 2009 pour un montant de 150 millions d'euros par incorporation de réserves. L'indépendance de la BCL est cependant garantie par la loi et par le Traité.
La contribution de la BCL est importante pour la zone euro et pour le pays. Le Traité de Maastricht et l'avènement de l'euro ont rendu nécessaire la création d'une banque centrale.

The Banque centrale du Luxembourg, a member of the Eurosystem, is seeking an:

Economist with DSGE experience (PhD) (m/f)

Full time (ref.: ER2/04/17)

Your mission:

You will adapt the multi-country general equilibrium Euro Area and Global Economy (EAGLE) model to the Luxembourg economy and apply it to study the impact of monetary and fiscal policy and the extent of international spillovers.  In addition, you will contribute to policy briefings, especially on issues related to DSGE models.

Your responsibilities:

  • Development and use of DSGE models in support of central bank tasks;
  • Preparation of briefing notes, reports and publications on this and other topics relevant to central bank missions;
  • Participation in national and international meetings and networks in the DSGE area;
  • Dissemination of research results through BCL publications and conferences, as well as through scientific channels.

Your profile:

  • PhD in economics or econometrics;
  • Extensive experience with multi-country DSGE models, familiarity with EAGLE would be considered an advantage;
  • Experience with central banking and monetary policy issues would be considered an advantage,
  • Academic publications would be an advantage;
  • Excellent command of English. Knowledge of French, German or Luxembourgish would be an advantage;
  • Ability to communicate with peers, managers and policymakers;
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
